February 16, 2016. We had an exciting morning with our special BCIT science guests Roxanne, Michael and Sam. They taught us about native plants to BC and how we need to protect them from invasive plants. We learned that it is very important to protect our ecosystem. Here are some pictures from our morning:
Unfortunately my camera battery died before I captured all the fun. The children played a tag game where 2 of them were blackberry bushes and the rest of the class were salmonberry bushes. This was an excellent way to demonstrate how invasive plants can easily take over. Within two minutes the ratio was reversed with almost the whole class as blackberry bushes and only a few salmonberry bushes were left.
